The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) in Sabah, north Borneo, was started in 2008 and is now sanctuary to over 30 sun bears. What’s more, it is now open to the public. The BSBCC was instrumental in inspiring the SBT. To learn more about what they do, have a look here. Their annual report from 2012 is available here. Hopefully the 2013 report will be available soon. If you wish to support the BSBCC by donating directly, you can do so from here.
Disclaimer: the BSBCC and the Sun Bear Trust (SBT) are completely separate legal entities. The Sun Bear Trust is a charity aiming to benefit sun bear conservation and while the BSBCC is one of the main focuses of SBT efforts –due to it being a centre of excellence in sun bear conservation– funding from the SBT may be given to any conservation projects deemed worthy by the Trust members.
